Mazut Fuel oil is a heavy, low quality fuel that is used in power plants and similar applications. In the United States and Western Europe, fuel oil is blended and divided downward, eventually as diesel.
Mazut M-100 is fuel oil which is produced according to the GOST specification, for example, GOST 10585-75, GOST 10585-99 fuel oil.
Fuel oil is almost exclusively produced in the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. This product is usually used for large boilers in the production of steam, because of their high energy content. The most important factor (not the only consideration) when evaluating this type of fuel is the sulfur content, which can mainly be affected by the feedstock. For shipping purposes, this product is considered a ¡§dirty oil¡¨ product, and because the viscosity will drastically affect whether it will be able to pump, and delivery has its own unique features. Fuel oil is much like the number 6 Oil, and some of the products left after gasoline and lighter components evaporate from crude oil.
The main difference between the different types of Mazut M100 is sulfur content. Varieties are represented by these sulfuric levels:
Very low sulfur content ¡¨is Mazut with a sulfur content of 0.5%¡¨
Low sulfur content ¡¨is Mazut with a sulfur content of 0.5-1.0%¡¨
Normal Sulfur ¡¨is Mazut with a sulfur content of 1.0-2.0%¡¨
High sulfur content ¡¨is Mazut with a sulfur content of 2.0-3.5%¡¨
Very low sulfur content Mazut is usually made from the lowest sulfur raw materials.
